Clinical Intent
This protocol addresses injuries of the biceps brachii muscle–tendon unit, including bicipital tenosynovitis, partial tendon tearing, chronic groove changes, transverse humeral ligament mineralization, and cases with concurrent shoulder pathology (e.g., supraspinatus tendinopathy or impingement).
Clinical evaluation includes the biceps stretch test and systematic palpation of the biceps tendon from origin to insertion, including the interface as the tendon traverses through the superficial pectoralis. Diagnostic imaging may be used to confirm findings, stage severity, and guide recheck decisions.
